In the newly published National Education Report Austria 2015, Prof. Dr. Brauckmann and colleagues dedicate one chapter to the topic of school autonomy in the Austrian education system. In the chapter titled school autonomy or the distribution of decision rights and responsibility in the school system, Brauckmann et al. analyse and discuss the previous and present distribution of decision rights and suggest an autonomy reform. The focus is on the following topics:

1. Strategies for a new distribution of decision rights
2. Recipients of the new decision rights
3. decision fields and decision contents
4. Aims of the autonimisation
